Fond du Lac, WI –The Knitting Room, at 28 N. Main Street, will celebrate its grand opening on March 19 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. under the new ownership of Sheri Louks. The celebration will feature donuts from Mix It Up Bakery, the chance to win a gift basket, and a special gift for the first 100 customers to make a purchase. Complimentary tea and coffee will be available daily, encouraging shoppers to come in for their daily fuel while discovering handmade samples and beautiful hand-dyed yarns.
Louks purchased the business from the previous owner on March 1 and will continue offering knitting supplies, while expanding the selection of embroidery items and classes. Knitters in Fond du Lac have been anxiously awaiting the return of “Another Round” on Tuesday evenings from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. when they gather to knit with friends. In addition to this long-standing evening activity, Louks also plans to offer classes in knitting, crocheting and embroidery for both adults and youth, including Girl Scout troops.
“My goal is to help everyone express their creativity, improve their skills and find camaraderie between friends – new and old,” said Louks. “Being in Downtown Fond du Lac helps me feel like I am part of a community and The Knitting Room is a place in the neighborhood where everyone can gather and feel welcome.”
