Downtown Farmers Market Announces Vendor Open House
Fond du Lac, WI – The Downtown Fond du Lac Farmers Market welcomes new and returning vendors to the annual Vendor Open House on March 14 from 5-7 p.m. in the McLane Room of the Fond du Lac Public Library. This open house style event is designed to allow vendors to walk-in any time between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to pick up application materials, answer questions, submit materials and payments, as well as connect with other vendors.
In addition to application materials, information will also be available on accepting EBT tokens, accepting Farmers Market Nutrition Program checks from WIC, the FDA Produce Safety Rule, Vendor Insurance, and scale certification.
“While the Open House is not required for vendors, it helps make the process of becoming a new vendor far less intimidating. Returning vendors enjoy connecting with one another and sharing their tips with new vendors” said Dusty Krikau, Director of Special Events and Communication for the Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership. “The night provides reassurance that our staff is here to help and that being a weekend entrepreneur doesn’t have to be overwhelming.”
New this year, vendors can submit applications through an online form at www.downtownfdl.com/farmersmarketvendors.html. Vendors who cannot attend the open house are encouraged to review the application materials and resources on the website and direct follow-up questions to Krikau at firstname.lastname@example.org or 920-322-2006. Deadline for inclusion in first wave of map placement is April 7, 2017. Applications continue to be accepted all season.
The Downtown Fond du Lac Farmers Market is held from 8am-12pm on Saturday mornings from May 13 to October 28 on Main Street and on Wednesdays from 11am-3pm from June 7 through October 25 on Main Street Plaza at the intersection of Sheboygan and Main Streets.
The Downtown Fond du Lac Farmers Market is administered by The Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership, Inc. (DFP), a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing people, activity, business and a thriving civic life back to the heart of Fond du Lac. The DFP serves 214 properties with 284 businesses, 76% of which are small, locally-owned and operated.
